On December 2015 we carried out a supper-club catering for Peabody residences and delivered multiple corporate orders for places such as City Hall (Mayors Office). We have gone on to take part in Africa on the Square for the past 3 years - with recommendations from London Mayor Sadik Khan. Our growth has been possible through the help of many organisations such as Inspire, Somewhere_to, Sankofa, UrbanMBA, Peabody, Start-up Kitchen and many more. Our team have worked in some of the UK's top restaurants, kitchens and street food traders from Mother Clucker, Bao London, to Gourmet Goat, De Vere, Smokestak and many more. With this bag of experience we hope to bring you the best high quality food.
The name Cally Munchy was born from the search of looking for something that had a ring to it and rolled from tongue. Munchy; from the word munching which is a more fun way of eating. Whilst Cally was inspired by different words with a ring to it such as Kalahari, Casava, Kelewele, Calabar.
We decided as with the style of our foods, our name should be a fusion as opposed to something only one ethnic group could relate to. Cally Munchy was inspired by all things African, the rhythm & sound of a continent, and the possibilities achievable through fusion of ideas.
We believe in giving back to those in our community. We've partnered up with various organisations to provide opportunities for certain individuals and groups. Cooking lesson in Pentonville prison: Liberty Kitchen. A percentage of the sales from our Shi-tuan sauce goes towards Brixton soup kitchen.
