The week before Sadiq Khan took his seat as king of the capital (Mayor), the Peer Outreach Team partnered with other organisations to deliver another successful event at City Hall which Cally Munchy had the privilege of being involved with. Hats off to the whole Cally Munchy squad, we definitely conquered on this one.
The proposed menu left the organisers scratching their heads but once the smell got through the doors, the queue was piled up in a flash. People came for seconds/ fifths (we may have lost count). We served up a fusion of dishes inspired by a range of cultures Cally Munchy style. There was a base of rice and peas, optional sauce of Thai green curry, halloumi or sweet chicken tikka, crunchy coleslaw and of course our beloved kelewele.
The golden boys of the night who had heads turning and tongues craving for more were the hot freshly made sugared puffpuffs (aka bofrot, mikate, kala, African donuts). They were the perfect snack for starting conversation and gearing the crowd up for a special evening.
We are very happy with the relationship we have started to build with City Hall.
